Abstract:Based on a survey of 6 foreign language courses on well-known Chinese and American MOOC platforms, the present study summarizes the existing problems of online autonomous learning, namely weak awareness of autonomous learning, little interaction among learners, deficiency of effective language output and imbalance of autonomous learning abilities. In the light of these results, the study proposes an autonomous foreign language learning mode in the Internet environment, which combines comprehensive autonomous learning qualities, interactive online learning environment and output-driven autonomous learning processes. The mode is expected to shed light on autonomous foreign language learning and its research in the future.
